still here.

welp. still in maui. yes, despite all the wind, waves, rain, and little pinches of sunshine throughout the day(s), the Island is still afloat. :)
it's been a nice few days...relaxing to say the least.
we all went to church this morning...then jumped off palm trees and covered my camera in sand. okay okay not the sand part...but almost. but...these were the results :)
yesterday:
woke up (good step to start the day)
went outside .
laid in the sun.
read my book about missionary medicine. good stuff. kinda wanting to do it :) waiting for God's lead.
lunch in the room, fixed specially by chef tayte.
hung out.
internet cafe. where, by the way i tried to upload pictures for over an hour. SO frustrating. resorted to facebook--will continue to update the album on there....hopefully adding a few highlights eventually here in photos.
went to Ulalena...a hawaiian show about myths of the island. it was amazing. live music--lots of drums. dance. acrobatics. so cool.
then bed.
:) good stuff. maui is pretty cool. feeling SO blessed that my family has a place like this to come. a place that feels like a home away from home. that i can walk down the beach here and remember what it looked like 15 years ago. not as many shells. the coral reef outside the door of the hotel has now been destroyed--visual testimony to human destruction and abuse of natural resources. need to work on that in my own life--being more resourceful, being a better steward of the world around me...

We have only borrowed it from our children"

on another note....looking forward to seeing everyone again. jenny and travis got married yesterday--so crazy. so awesome for them though :) congrats, guys!
thanking God daily for the numerous blessings...absence is emphasizing them, magnifying them, and making me appreciate them all the more ;)
